A Joy to Write
with Jim Paul
Write from the pleasure principle, beginning with the breath and the sensuous dimension of language.
A Six Saturday Sessions
Saturdays at 11 AM - 12:30 PM - June 9th through July 14th
$20 per session; $110 for all.
Like music, like drawing, writing is best done in state of calm
concentration and pleasure.
This workshop will show you how to free your writing impulse
in a safe, supportive writing group led by poet and writer Jim
Paul.
We'll start with the breath - origin of "inspiration" - and learn
techniques for cultivating spontaneity, enhancing observation
and writing with flow. We'll play writing games, work on our
journals and develop ideas for longer pieces.
So ditch your dread and bring your pencil. Restore writing to
your life and life to your writing.

To register, call 518 329 7393 or e-mail.
Jim Paul is a poet and author of five books of creative nonfiction
and fiction, including Catapult and Elsewhere in the Land of
Parrots, both out now as Harvest paperbacks. This fall he will
be a Visiting Professor of English at Williams College.
