Yoga has been a highlight of our Opera House program, helping students learn the fundamentals of ideal movement as they apply to yoga. Whether you are an expert or a beginner, in this class you'll receive gentle hands-on guidance to help you fulfill each pose. Joan incorporates the principles of Anusara Yoga and the Alexander Technique, offering an unusual degree of individual attention in a flowing, balanced class. Come join our enthusiastic yoga crew and learn to build strength, solve body problems and find pleasure and ease in an ongoing practice.
Joan Arnold, Executive Director of the Ancram Opera House, is certified as a yoga instructor and teacher of the Alexander Technique. In her private practice at NYC's Union Square, she helps her students overcome back problems, recover from injury and surgery, improve posture and unravel harmful movement habits. David Dembo & Joanne Stein

Introduction to Latin Dancing
Saturdays · 5:30 - 6:30 pm
June 14th - July 5th
$20/single $70/series
In this class you will learn the most popular Latin dances as well as basic partnering skills. Understanding the dance frame - the connection between you and your partner - is crucial to being able to lead and follow. We will use the rumba to introduce styling and basic steps and go on to explore how they transform in cha cha, mambo and merengue. We'll also work toward learning basic Argentine Tango. This series aims to give you enough skill to find ease and enjoyment on the dance floor. You may come solo or with a partner.
David Dembo has been studying and teaching ballroom and Latin dance for over 10 years. A lifelong student of the art of tango, he continues to study International style ballroom and Latin. He will be demonstrating and teaching with his dance partner Joanne Stein, who has been studying and teaching ballroom, Latin and Argentine tango for five years.
